Staying Busy
Debut authors weren’t kidding when they said the query trenches were… daunting. There is a lot of waiting, rejection, and overall, self-doubt.
I’ve mentioned this previously, but I really do take every step of this process in strides. I know every popular NYT best selling author had horrible first drafts. I don’t go down a spiral when I get a rejection, but I would also be lying if I said it didn’t sting.
So what’s next? Well, I have had an idea bundled in my back pocket for some time now. I even bought a $15 notepad and $5 pen while at the Nashville airport to get the idea down on paper. I finally put those notes to use, and started drafting another project that is completely separate from The Lost Huntress of Lidith.
What’s it about?
Well, I am not going to share it jussssttttt yet. However, I really wanted to create a project that was out of the norm. Something that was real, yet had that magical fantasy flare that you all know I love.
What I will tell you, the thought was to pull a modern relationship issue and place it into a royal setting. If you have any thoughts on what this may mean, please feel free to spam me with your thoughts.
XOXO,
Ivy
